Actual creations from the Soupliotis archive. The family estimates the original photograph dates from the 1940s; that date has not been verified. AI reconstructs colour and detail, and generates the motion. These are new interpretations, not historical film recordings.

02 / A whole family photograph, brought to life

They stood still for a photograph.
Now watch them smile.

A faded family gathering. Faces almost lost in the shadows. See Giorgos Saratsis and family restored in colour, then watch the same photograph become a six-second Living Group Portrait.

One photograph. A new way to feel close.

The people, the gathering, the family connection. A smile and a little movement open another way to experience the photograph.

A family gathering, imagined.A real example created for the family archive. AI-generated scene and motion.

A smile together.
A wave across generations.

Put relatives from different photographs into a shared scene. Choose how they move: smiling, waving, laughing, or a quieter moment together. Review the photograph before creating the video, and review the video before saving it.

Each creation becomes part of your Media Library, alongside the portraits and memories that inspired it.

The next chapter / In development

Imagine your family history
as a film.

The photographs are the beginning. Our ambition is a living family story: people moving through scenes, speaking, and sharing moments you can watch together.

01

Script the story.

Shape a short documentary around the people, places and memories in your tree.

02

Give the scene a voice.

Create imagined conversations with synthetic voices, clearly distinguished from authentic recordings.

03

Make it a family occasion.

Our vision includes immersive viewing on Apple TV, iPad, Apple Vision Pro and other screens, and interactive displays for museums.

Scripted documentaries, speaking scenes and native viewing apps are planned experiences. The portrait and group-video examples above are available in the current private web app.

Why TheLivingTree / Every detail matters

The tree gives it meaning.
The moving image gives it life.

Restoration is the beginning. Creation is what comes next.

We care about the details that make a person feel familiar: eyes, expression, colour, texture. That is why detailed AI Portraits sit at the heart of the experience. Keep your original photographs, review the restored results, and choose the portraits that will become the starting point for new creations.

Then go further. Create a family gathering that was never photographed. Set it in a place that matters. Turn it into a video. The tree connects the people; generative AI opens up new ways to see them together. The Soupliotis family archive is where this began.

Selected examples on this website are shared with the family owner’s permission. The full archive remains in the private web app.

A few things to know.

What can I create today?

The current private web app supports photo restoration, high-resolution AI Portraits, Living Portrait videos, custom group photographs and Living Group Portrait videos. Public signup for separate family workspaces is not available yet.

Are these real recordings of the people?

The source photographs come from the family archive. Restored detail, new scenes and animated movement are AI interpretations. We keep original photographs and distinguish them from new creations. Planned synthetic voices will not be presented as someone’s authentic voice.

Do you keep the original photographs?

Yes. The original remains part of the archive. You can view it alongside the restored result, and keep the creations you choose in the Media Library.

How is this different from MyHeritage?

MyHeritage also offers photo animation and enhancement. Our focus is the complete creative experience of a living family archive: restored portraits throughout the tree, deliberately composed new family scenes, and videos made from those scenes. Scripted family films are the direction we’re building toward.

What is the website, and what is the web app?

This website introduces TheLivingTree and shows selected examples. The separate web app is the software for managing people and relationships, uploading photographs, and creating and enjoying your family media. The Soupliotis archive is the current private example.
